ESD Labels

ESD labels are used in an EPA to make people aware that equipment could be damaged or destroyed by electrostatic discharge or that handling precautions must be used.

ESD labels are used in manufacturing to prevent ESD.  An ESD event occurs when a static charge rapidly transfers between two objects, which can result in a tiny spark that can damage electronics. Other labels in this category are used when ESD protection points need to be clearly marked. Electrical components should only be handled in an ESD protected area where fields and voltages are kept at low levels.
